We're a diverse group of photographers on the southern
Oregon coast (primarily in the Coos Bay, North Bend, Coquille, Bandon &
Myrtle Point areas); with skill ranges from professional to novice,
traditional film to digital, wet darkroom to commercial mini-lab users
to inkjet desktops. Everyone is invited
to attend a meeting (usually the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month). We have members who have just purchased their first camera
to serious amateurs and professionals. And it does not matter if you are using
print film, digital capture, slide film, 35mm, large format - if you are making
images using some type of photographic process, you are welcome. |

Join OCPA -
Membership And Dues
Information on how to join our little band of image
makers and current dues amounts.
Calendar
of Events
What are the dates for those meetings and events? These
include monthly Shoot-Outs; the semi-annual
Pony Village Show & Sale;
Potlucks; Scavenger Hunts; the
Coos County Fair;
and who knows what else.
If you are interested in what goes on at our different
meetings, check out this page. Typically we conduct two meetings (plus a Board of
Directors meeting) every month, and each has different activities (includes a
link to
descriptions of what the
various parts of our meetings are called or what they mean).
Meeting
locations (maps, etc.) can also be found here.
Newsletters
Published monthly, the current and back issues of OCPA's
official newsletter, Proof
Sheet, are available here as Adobe Acrobat Reader (.pdf)
files.
Library
OCPA receives many printed materials that are available to our members.
The PSA Journal and O'Reilly & Peachpit Press books are currently
the "name brands" we have to choose from. This section also has
recommendations and reviews of these items.
Member's Gallery
In this section, besides providing our membership the
opportunity to show off some of their individual work, we also showcase some of
our winning images from our competitions.
OCPA's
Bylaws, Policies and Procedures
This is the legal stuff, our
Bylaws (last updated 09/2001).
You can view them here or they are available as an Adobe Acrobat Reader
download.
While the Bylaws are what governs our organization, the
Policies and Procedures provide us with guidelines on how to get that done.
Also available as an Adobe Acrobat Reader download.
Need to find out who is running this outfit and how to get in
touch with them? Take a look here,
Board and Committee Members.
Competition, and other Rules &
Guidelines
Want to participate in the next
"Best Shot"
Competition but you don't know what the rules are? How about the 4Cs
monthly competitions? You can look them up here and/or
download the Adobe Acrobat Reader files.
OCPA
also
conducts other activities that are not competitions but which require some type
of rules or guidelines; such as the
Pony Village Show & Sale
or the
Coos County Fair. This is
the place to go to find out.
Where & When
Pulled from back issues of OCPA's
newsletter (Proof
Sheet), this is where you can find recommended photographic
"hot-spots". We have them sorted by season and by how long (travel
time, i.e. one-day, two-day or three plus days).
Associations
OCPA
is a proud member of some fine photographic organizations. Check out this page
for more information.
